Thanks Renee- You are always so positive and I appreciate your kind words. Today, was much better with that class. They seem to like manual labor. So I had them moving equipment and setting up the gym for a tournament, and they were happy. Very best to You!

I will not try to speak on something I have no idea on (what you have went through here). I will however say, to know when to step back (you're not giving up) because the polarity does not mix on both sides, is honest and takes a honest heart. One of the most powerful things we learn in this life is, knowing when we need to make a change like this, because many try too hard to 'win' in the situation. Sadly more people have a pride issue that they refuse to let something go and step back - it only creates misery. That is not teaching, that is dictating. YOU are teaching, because you want what is best, not ruled by ego.
You gave me a powerful reminder with your blog, thank you.

So your dictator would bring their own food to a different restaurant? :) Thanks for the entry you are in the running. Question, just out of my own curiosity, Are you a vegan? And do you eat at any of the national chain restaurants?

While I'm not sure what dictators I'd ever want to share a meal with, we may want to keep in mind that IHOP has recently been exposed for animal cruelty in its supply chain.

Perhaps the the pancakes can be eaten somewhere else. :)

Nice slice-of-life story, Denise. Probably because of _Benny and Joon_, I saw Mary Stuart Masterson in my mind while I read it, and that casting worked well. The writing was curt, succinct, and sharp, exactly as it should have been, so it was easy to visualize the entire story. Thanks for sharing it, and Chuck, thanks for giving it a home.

I spoke to him once, but never met him. I was visiting Ed in the hospital after his bypass and he was talking to someone on his cell phone. The room phone rang, and Ed asked me if I would pick it up. Charlie was on the other end, and I was kind of speechless. I told Ed who it was, and he quickly ended the cell phone call so he could take Charlie's call.

Charlie had an amazing career, and in creating _Locus_, he filled a void that no one else ever really needed to fill. In an industry where magazines come and go like the wind, it's very telling that _Locus_ has stayed in print for 40 years (to the best of my knowledge, anyway.)
